No office or gaming setup is complete without a desktop PC. With us, you can configure a wide range of desktop PCs to suit your preferences and budget. From affordable office PCs under €500 to high-end systems over €5,000—you’ll find the perfect PC system here.
If you’re looking to buy a new PC system, you might be facing the decision of whether to buy a desktop PC or a laptop. Both types of devices have pros and cons. Laptops are primarily portable and can be used anywhere. Plus, laptops come with everything you need—and a modern gaming laptop also offers a ton of performance. A desktop PC, on the other hand, is primarily more modular: you can build a desktop PC to suit your needs and upgrade it later—so the classic desktop PC lasts longer and is often significantly cheaper in the long run. Additionally, the larger dimensions allow for much more powerful components while keeping noise levels much lower. If you have specific requirements, such as storage space or maximum performance, there’s no getting around buying a classic desktop PC.
The aforementioned advantage of desktop PCs is their modular design and the resulting ability to configure your desktop PC exactly as you need it. From an office computer to a gaming PC, a water-cooled high-end PC, or a workstation with server-level performance—anything is possible.
A well-known example of a desktop PC is the gaming PC: here, the main focus is on maximum performance in games. This requires particularly fast processors, graphics cards, and sufficiently fast RAM. At MIFCOM, you’ll find desktop PCs with all the latest processors from Intel or AMD and the fastest graphics cards from NVIDIA and AMD. Since the eyes are part of the gaming experience too, our gaming PCs—whether air- or water-cooled—impress with their spectacular looks. The advantage: unbeatable performance and stunning aesthetics. The downside: a higher price point.
So-called all-in-one PCs represent a special type of desktop PC. These are based on a similar principle to laptops. In these PC systems, the actual PC is combined with a monitor and is usually built into the back, less commonly into the stand. The advantage: the design is very space-saving and very few cables are used. The downside: in most cases, high-performance hardware cannot be installed, and upgrading is virtually impossible; furthermore, if a defect occurs, the entire All-in-One PC usually needs to be replaced. These PCs are particularly suitable for office applications and business users.
State-of-the-art technology allows even high-performance desktop PCs to become smaller and smaller. Even in a volume significantly smaller than a shoebox, it is now possible to build highly capable systems suitable for tasks such as demanding image editing. If a few extra centimeters are available, extremely fast gaming mini PCs can also be built. The advantage: maximum performance and all the benefits of a desktop PC in a compact format. The downside: limited space restricts component selection, and there is little room for items such as hard drives or expansion cards.
The best-known type of desktop PC is the office PC. This is a PC designed for the office environment. Key factors here are highly reliable components and low emissions (noise level & power consumption). The design is also understated. Compared to office laptops, desktop PCs are more durable thanks to their upgradability and can be used for many years, making them very cost-effective in the long run. The main disadvantage compared to laptops is that mobility is severely limited.
High-end PCs are generally considered to be a step above gaming PCs. These are high-performance computers that rely exclusively on the fastest and best components. They feature only processors with multiple cores and high clock speeds, cooled by high-performance water cooling systems, and are complemented by extremely fast and powerful graphics cards. Our high-end PCs are true luxury devices for the most demanding gamers.
Our workstation PCs take the concept of office PCs a step further: here, too, reliability, durability, and modularity are of the utmost importance, but now maximum performance in professional applications is also a key factor. Depending on the application, one or even multiple processors, fast professional graphics cards, or maximum storage capacity are required—or a combination thereof.
If even a high-end PC isn’t enough for you, you can also purchase water-cooled PCs from us. In these systems, special cooling blocks are installed on the graphics card(s) and processor(s) to enable water cooling. These components are connected to radiators via hoses or water pipes, and the water is circulated through the system by powerful pumps. The advantage: only then can the fastest components reach their full potential, since even high-end components often fail to achieve maximum clock speeds due to high temperatures. Furthermore, a water-cooled system—whether intended for gaming or professional use—virtually automatically comes with a particularly striking appearance.
A desktop PC generally consists of the following components:
- Case
- Motherboard
- Processor
- CPU cooler
- Graphics card (integrated or dedicated)
- Power supply
- RAM
- Storage (SSD & HDD)
However, exactly which components you should use depends heavily on your specific needs. Wi-Fi cards or dongles are also recommended as optional extras, but you’ll also find many other expansion cards here to help you configure your new desktop PC even better. Of course, you’ll also need suitable input devices, such as a keyboard or mouse.
For office applications, Intel processors ranging from Intel Core i3 to Intel Core i5 (SoC 1700) or AMD’s G-series processors (e.g., 5600G, SoC AM4) are a good choice. These processors offer sufficient performance for all standard applications. Gamers need processors starting with Intel Core i5 and Ryzen 5—games often require more CPU cores and higher clock speeds than office applications. Demanding gamers who also stream benefit from the latest generation of high-end CPUs, such as the AMD Ryzen 9000 (Socket AM5) or Intel Core Ultra. A highlight for gamers is AMD’s X3D processors, which deliver maximum performance in games. For professional applications that require a particularly large number of cores, AMD Threadripper processors—with up to 128 CPU cores—are a worthwhile investment.
Today, every PC should have an SSD, whether it’s an office PC or a gaming rig. Silent operation, low power consumption, and significantly faster load times combined with a long lifespan speak for themselves. HDDs are only worth considering if you have a very limited budget—since SSDs are still slightly more expensive than HDDs—or if you need a particularly large amount of storage capacity that SSDs cannot provide. Since prices have converged significantly, we recommend using PCIe NVMe SSDs.
Even for office PCs, at least 16GB of RAM should be used in 2026. For gaming, it should be at least 32GB, though 48GB+ of RAM is now preferable. The clock speeds should also be higher (starting at 3200MHz or 6000MHz for DDR5). More than 32GB of RAM is required for professional applications—with MIFCOM, several hundred gigabytes are possible.
An office PC usually doesn’t need a graphics card at all. Many processors already have an integrated graphics unit that can drive multiple monitors via ports on the motherboard. A small, passively cooled graphics card can be worthwhile if a particularly large number of monitors are to be used. Gaming PCs usually require powerful graphics cards. The latest games at high resolutions and with high frame rates demand extremely fast graphics cards—the more power, the better. In some professional applications, such as deep learning (AI) or 3D rendering, multiple graphics cards can also be beneficial—and take advantage of the features of professional GPUs. For gamers, the well-known models from NVIDIA and AMD are suitable.
With us, you have the choice of purchasing your new PC system with or without an operating system. We offer all standard Windows operating systems. Your advantage with MIFCOM: the operating system and all necessary drivers and programs are pre-installed—and nothing more. Our A+ installation comes without annoying bloatware, and no irritating programs are pre-installed. With our optional A+ Stick, you also receive a USB drive containing all the necessary files to restore the system to its factory settings.
The overall concept of a PC starts with the case. You can choose whether the case should be particularly discreet and functional, whether it should have a glass panel and plenty of RGB fans, or whether you prefer a closed side panel. The case also determines whether the focus should be on airflow and cool temperatures or on keeping noise levels as low as possible. You can also choose between small or large cases.
When you buy your desktop PC from MIFCOM, you’ll enjoy many benefits. You’re on the safe side with a minimum 3-year warranty. Plus, you’ll receive lifetime support for any questions about your new desktop PC. Thanks to our years of experience, you’ll get a perfectly tuned system with top-quality craftsmanship.
