Powered by ASUS Agent Computer: Create AI agents for everyday tasks
An Agent Computer runs AI agents. These are programs that you assign tasks to, and they carry out those tasks independently—such as summarizing documents, drafting texts, writing code, or automating recurring processes. “Powered by ASUS” refers to custom-built systems from ASUS partners that rely on top-of-the-line ASUS components. The Powered by ASUS Agent Computer Edition from MIFCOM combines a stable ASUS motherboard, a high-performance ASUS graphics card, a long-lasting ASUS power supply, a reliable ASUS cooler, and a robust ASUS case with exactly the hardware that agents need for continuous operation. With this, we’re expanding our AI workstation lineup to include a system for agents that run continuously in the background.
Applications for which an Agent Computer can be used
Developers use coding agents to write and test code. Freelancers and agencies automate research, document processing, and text creation. Companies run internal assistants that work securely on their own documents. All of these agents often run for hours without your intervention, placing different demands on the hardware than a PC that runs only during working hours.
What hardware an agent computer needs for continuous operation
The processor manages the agents’ tool calls, file access, and network requests. With enough cores, multiple agents running simultaneously won’t slow each other down. The graphics memory determines which language models run entirely on the graphics card. With ample graphics memory, small to medium-sized models can run, while larger models and multiple parallel agents require correspondingly more capacity. If a model does not fit into the graphics memory, part of it is offloaded to RAM, and responses become significantly slower. Sufficient RAM also keeps multiple agents and their working data available simultaneously. A fast NVMe SSD loads models quickly and provides space for model libraries, documents, and results. Under sustained load, the ASUS power supply and ASUS cooler determine how stably the system runs over days and weeks, while the ASUS motherboard and ASUS case form the solid foundation.
How a Local Agent Improves API Costs and Data Control
If an agent uses a model running locally, no usage-based API fees apply to these requests, and the processed data remains entirely on your system. This is particularly relevant for companies that work with internal documents and customer data. For very large models, you can also combine agents with cloud services and operate the system in a hybrid configuration.
When a system for large language models is the better choice
If your primary goal is to run large language models locally with as much graphics memory as possible, you’ll find suitable systems among the Local LLM AI Workstations. The Agent Computer is the perfect fit if agents are to handle tasks continuously in the background.
In the Workstation Configurator, you can customize your system to meet your specific needs.
